St. Augustine FL Adventure

Crescent Beach, FL

What started out as a way to photograph the beautiful St. Augustine, FL area turned into a fun filled day of laughter and a little photography.  A month ago, a few friends decided to met up in Crescent Beach. After a few obstacles, we all made our way there. Despite the heat (it was 90 degrees by 10 am) and possibility of rain, we started our adventure.

The first photo session was just south of the Matanzas National Park. The beach area is known to only the locals. It is away from the tourist. As soon as we turned onto the road, the stresses of our busy lives went away. We immediately saw sand dunes and the local surfers enjoying the waves.  After walking down a little path, the ocean opened up to us.

Of course, the rocks were calling us to explore the other side.  We made our way up the rocks to see more beautiful waves.  The wind was blowing to help cool us off.    Before we knew it, an hour had passed.

We then made our way to the historic St. Augustine. As we came into the city we saw the St. Augustine Lighthouse. The area was busy with tourist enjoying the sites and sounds of the lighthouse. Again, lots of laughter while photography the area.

Once done, we made our way to the downtown area. Thousands of tourist were enjoying the last weekend before school starts. After a few minutes we found a parking spot and began walking the famous St. George Street. Every shop offered something different. Of course, we had to stop at the chocolate and bread shops. We decided to not indulge here. I can still smell the fresh bread coming out of the oven.

Our last stop of the day was a local restaurant, Oasis! The food was fabulous, but the best part was the laughter of our group. It was fun to laugh at our day's adventures and remember our many concert adventures. Before the day was over, we made a pack to continue our adventures.  Once a month is our goal. This way we can photography the many beautiful sites in Florida while hanging out with friends.

What started out a way to improve our photography skills turned into much more. There are times, you just have to get out our comfort zones and enjoy the moments of laughter and fun with good friends.

Until our next adventure..........
